COMMITTMENT TO THE PLANET

Introducing sustainable behaviour in a company split between two countries, one of which is African and therefore with completely different control systems to what we are used to, is complex and challenging, but it is our investment in the future.

ORGANIC COTTON AND CERTIFIED FABRICS

Since 2024, Endelea's collections have been made with certified organic cotton.

Maasai Shuka fabrics are certified by Sunflag Tanzania's official dealers in Arusha, one of the few traditional textile companies in Tanzania to boast internationally recognised social and environmental certifications, including SA 8000: 2008, OEKO-TEX®, Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS), Organic Content Standard (OCS).

THE ROUGH BEAUTY OF SISAL AND MILULU

For some of our accessories, we have chosen sisal and milulu, natural fibers derived from plants and crafted by women artisans from Kenya and Tanzania. We have chosen them for their sustainable impact, their natural appearance, but also because they remind us of the markets along the streets of Africa. The weaving of the fibers reminds us of the intertwining of stories of which we are also part of.

ENDELEA ZERO WASTE

With the fabric scraps generated from the production of our collections, we create fabric packaging in which all our garments are stored. The smaller scraps are made available to tailors for personal use or for creating items that contribute to their livelihood. They are also donated to local artists for experimenting with new collage and macramé techniques.

ENDELEA AND RENOON

All our garments come with a 'digital product passport', produced in collaboration with Renoon, an Italian technology platform committed to responsible fashion. Whoever buys a garment can get more information about the composition of the fabric, the supply chain, and the environmental impact measured in 'cost per wear', i.e. the price of the garment divided by the number of times it is worn.
