Tingatinga Pareo Skirt

A Tingatinga artist used our iconic pareo skirt as their canvas. The subject is a crane with a sinuous neck and a mysterious allure. The elegant and minimal design of the skirt becomes bold thanks to the bright colors of the Tingatinga painting, a style born in Dar es Salaam in the sixties and still active today. The capsule is part of the Endelea Supports Black Art. project. By purchasing the blouse you are supporting the activities of the Tingatinga Arts Cooperative Society in Dar es Salaam and the artist Amos Ashee Mtambala.
